On 127: Rude, road rage, brake check and a gun

Aug 27, 2023

An Alger man refused to let a Clare couple merge onto US-127 at Rosebush Saturday, a road rage incident that moments later had the man waving a gun out his window.

Isabella deputies were called to talk to the victims – a 46-year-old woman and 47-year-old man, both from Clare – at 127 and Baseline Road just before 11 a.m.

“The victims indicated that they were merging onto the highway from Rosebush (and) were forced to slow down as the car in the outside lane would not move over for them,” said Isabella County Sheriff Mike Main.

The Clare man then passed the other car, which then passed him and slammed on his brakes.

“The victim stated that he was going to pass them again when the other driver started waving a gun out the window,” Main said. “The victim stated that he did pass the other car but during that time the other victim in the car was able to get some phone video.”

Deputies are attempting to track down the suspect, who they believe is from Alger.
